Complete Athlete has a team of coaches who bring a wealth of education and expertise and are dedicated to working together to help you reach your goals. Using a team approach, we put the success and the progress of our athletes and clients as our top priority. Our team is trained to evaluate and assess your body for muscular imbalances and design personalized programs to fit your needs, thus maximizing your results in a safe and effective manner. Your trainers will provide you with the knowledge, motivation and confidence to attain your goals, change your body and transform your life! When applicable we communicate and coordinate with sports coaches, physical therapists, massage therapists, surgeons and chiropractors to assure that we are implementing the most effective plan.
Joel Hayek, Owner
Joel has been working in the health & fitness industry in Spokane for over 20 years. He and his wife, Kristal, are long-term residents of Spokane and have four children. Joel loves all sports but is particularly passionate about Track & Field and has been a local high school coach.
Joel's passion is to see people of all ages/abilities experience greater wellness through the multi-care structure of Complete Athlete.
Raul Vijil, Performance Coach Director
Raul is from Pasco, WA. He grew up very active, playing many different sports. Soccer was his favorite sport and was his main focus until he gave football a try his Senior year. His team went 14-0. He was then offered a scholarship to EWU where he played for 5 years. Following his final year of college, he continued his career playing professional Arena Football for the Spokane Shock.
Raul and his wife, Dani, have recently become parents to Ezra. Raul loves spending time with family and friends, playing games, golfing, watching football and honing his craft as a Performance/Fitness Coach.
Nate Overbay, School & Team Program Director
Nate was born and raised in Chehalis, WA. He played 3 sports in high school: basketball, baseball and football. He attended EWU to play five years of football and one year of basketball. After college, he played in the NFL for six seasons.
Nate and his wife, Jessi, have two children. They love to be outdoors and do anything with sports. His passion is training youth and helping them push their limits to get the most out of themselves. Nate enjoys golf, fishing, hunting and lots and lots football.
Matt Benner, Client Service Director
Matt was born and raised in Spokane. He graduated from Mt. Spokane High School where he played baseball and was the State Champion for bowling his Freshman year. After high school he played JUCO Baseball at Big BEnd CC and then at Montana State University - Billings.
In his free time he enjoys being outdoors with family and friends. He loves hiking, fishing and weekend trips.
Luis Brito, Performance Coach
Luis is a graduate from Upper Iowa University where he played baseball for three years.
Drew Clausen, Performance Coach
Drew is a Spokane native who grew up playing four sports at West Valley High School. After his college football career, he pursued football in Europe for two years. His favorite athletic memories are playing for a Washington State football championship, a National Championship at the college level and a Spanish National Championship overseas.
Drew is also in his third year as the QB coach at Mead High School and loves working with young athletes. In his free time, he enjoys wakesurfing and spending time with friends and family.
Nate Delegard, Performance Coach
Nate was born in Wenatchee and grew up in Spokane. He attended University High School and played hockey and was a 2013 WHL prospect. He is currently attending EWU as a pre-PT student.
Nate enjoys powerlifting and has a USAPL 1st Place. He also is a talented musician playing both drums and guitar. In his free time, Nate enjoys weightlifting and travelling.
Dustin Ferger, Performance Coach
Dustin graduated from Gonzaga University in the Spring of 2017, receiving his degree in kinesiology while playing four years of Division 1 soccer for GU. Growing up he played basketball, baseball and soccer. In high school, he decided to dedicate all of his focus to soccer only and was able to travel all over the country and compete at a high level.
When he's not coaching, Dustin enjoys skiing, hiking, biking and really anything involving the outdoors.

Ruben Solis, Performance Coach
Ruben grew up as an avid fan of all sports, primarily playing football, track and field and soccer. He attended Arizona State University where he also played rugby and was an athletic training intern with the football and baseball teams his senior year.
